All four of our kids appreciate the speed and freedom of being on wheels (bikes, scooters, and skateboards top the list at the moment), so we've taken this momentum to get out and about on wheels as much as we can.
Earlier this summer, we went to a mountain bike festival with a pump track for kids. Our friend Eric coached Stella through the entire course...

Summer Trips (+ Spring Break)
For the third consecutive summer, we made the 3+ hour drive to a favorite spot on the Washington Coast. There is just so much space -- on the sand, in the ocean, and along the wooded trails -- that all six of us can let loose on our own terms. Our awesome friends joined us this year -- adding to the energy and excitement of getting away from it all.
As soon as we arrived, all four kiddos were helmeted and ready to pedal.
On to the sand and beach.
Visiting a Star Wars shop + mural on the way home.
We also made our way east to the Methow Valley for a bit of exploration.
Local beer and food.
Touring the North Cascades Smokejumpers Base.
Relaxing in the hot tub on the deck of our cabin overlooking the Chewuch River.
Feeding trout at the Winthrop National Fish Hatchery.
Back in April, we headed to Lake Chelan with friends and family.
One of many potty stops on the drive.
An apple orchard tractor ride -- complete with apple cider and donuts.
Activities around the house.
An interesting stop on the way home.

First Haircut + Twin Bed
After weeks of asking for a haircut, Stella finally found herself at the salon -- sitting in my lap clinging to me. While her enthusiasm clearly gave way to nervousness during the haircut, she was very pleased once we left and headed home to show her new 'do off.
She's also enjoying the independence of a twin bed...
except when Iver wants to join her. Actually, they spend a lot of time sitting and reading together in her bed (a noticeable contrast to all the bouncing and jumping that transpires on Iver's bed).

Our Two Year Old
Our baby turned two a few weeks back. According to her, she was turning 3, but based on my recollection of birthing her, I'm sticking with two.
Still hanging out with her doggy after two years.
Birthday cupcakes with the family...
and birthday cake with family and friends a week later.
Ruling the playground.
